Sorry, I know this is a little vauge but...
A friend of mine used to work for a County Council in the drainage department. Whilst lifting manhole covers for a drain survey he found a a particularly deep chamber that went down a couple of levels. At the bottom they found what apparently could be described as a buried street complete with shop fronts.
He says it was in Hanging Ditch.
Anyone know anything about it?
