Fancied a nosey around a mill as I've not done one yet and I have a strong interest in Industrial buildings of old. The architecture is what appeals to me, the quality, the sturdiness, the history and work life that once hustled and bustled with and around these walls, this one was very photogenic and peaceful. Once a cotton spinning mill, then reutilised as a brewing company, a food / animal feed manufacturer, the mill finally closed its doors in 2003 where ever since then the site has remained asleep. I have seen a few reports on here and comparing I have noticed the wall around the chimney is now gone, and all the window frames have gone entirely. The first floor has sections of floor missing yet what remains is quite sturdy. Someone has taken the steps nosing and the handrails. Wiring, etc has been stripped out as per usual. I thoroughly enjoyed exploring this site, The horses were friendly also.

Great photos, there are some nicely composed shots in there. Also didn’t know it was converted into a brewery at some point that’s really interesting. The place has had quite the variety of uses.

Thank you, I took a lot more but didn’t want to flood the thread full of them,

As for the mill my searches have come about discovering it has been a cotton spinning mill, rubber works, then back to textile work, then in the 1950’s it made products for food, animal feed and the brewing sector, (it may not of been a brewery per se) my mistake. However during my explore i noticed a few safety signs stating the last companies name and details such as fire assembly point location etc. This was a chemical manufacturing/sales company - I have a photograph of that sign.

I heard this place has a basement? I was unaware of that and didnt see a entrance within the building, so i’m not too sure if its been filled in or not, if anyone has any pointers please let me know. Might be worth another visit there again!
