I thought I'd lump these four sites together instead of cluttering up the forum as they'd be better in a group.
First up, Gieterij Vuylsteke Foundry. Been empty a fair while, inside reminded me of how the similarly stripped Ford Foundry in Leamington Spa looked. Big and empty but a few things to keep you occupied for an hour. Oh yes, and it had started raining by this point.
Old casting blocks, only still up there because there is no way up from the ground!
More here
Next up, ECVB Museum side, after finding the turbine hall side covered in workers dismantling the large pipes that run parallel to the railway line. I took some truly awful photos in here, here are the few of the better ones.
More from ECVB here
Du Parc Stockings Factory was next, this place initially seemed like another big empty space but the more we moved through the site the more oldschool factory goodness we found, I really liked it here. It's a big place, bigger than it looks from aerial views and the road.
More from Du Parc here
Lastly, almost opposite Du Parc is Schotte & Fils Tannery. Whilst bigger than Du Parc, a fair amount of demolition/stripping has been carried out fairly recently which means it's almost totally empty, rude not to have a look when it's right opposite however.
