My first time exploring a mausoleum/crypt. Was given the location of this via a friend whilst in the area. Such a beautiful building, disappointing to see people decided to graffiti the inside.. WHY?Set deeply in the woods our walk down was quite enjoyable. Access is self explanatory..

Originally built in the 1870s for the Assheton-Smith family who owned the Vaynol estate and the Dinorwic slate quarries. Thomas Assheton-Smith and members of his family buried here including Captain Robert George Duff are buried here. Is a grade 2 listed building.
