Vencel Resil make insulation materials for the building industry. They closed two of the four UK factories in June 2009 when the full force of the downturn in the building industry was felt. The Whitecroft site closed with the loss of 13 jobs. The site has sat for sale since the closure, recently the owners have applied for planning permission to convert the site into residential use.
The lockers, canteen and offices reminded me of Fletchers - a sense of walking out and never returning. There was still sugar, milk and bread in the canteen.
