W.H Shaw / The Loomworks - Diggle - July 2011
I first visited this place on a cold night in January with NickUK, it was a recce turned explore but without my camera. I kept saying I would go back and then a fantastic report by TheLoneRanger booted me to do it, it's an interesting old site some of which is still used by a local manufacturing firm.
I currently have a large desire if WANT/NEED for the clocktower and admin section, on our visit it was seemingly inaccessible, first one to find a way in gets a cookie...
Dobcross works, for 37 years until 2006 it had been the home of Shaw’s Pallet Works, reputedly one of the largest pallet works in Europe. Known locally as ‘The Cathedral’ the main building housing the clock tower, is a Grade 2 listed building...
Cheers
