While in dover we decided to attend one of the batterys open days and say hi to our mates who help out there After looking round the usual parts shown to the public we were shown inside one of the recently opened buildings
We was then invited to join a private tour of the plotting room for two gentlemen who's grandfathers were stationed there near the end of the war
The plotting room was basically the same as all the others I've seen but it was a nice change to do one not burnt out and covered in graffiti
A little ornate decoration not the usual sort of thing you find in these places the guide joked how maybe one of the misses added some touches before a higher up came down and told the men to paint over it 🤣
The two gentlemen who's grandparents were stationed there then showed us some papers and the menu of the last xmas meal that was held there
Note that the last course includes cigarettes 😂😂😂 ow them where the times
Thanks for looking
