This place has been covered a few times, most recently in a great report by @JakeV50 but we do love an empty mill and it's not far from us so it was worth a look.
As stated in the other reports there isn't a lot of history on the place. It was constructed in 1907 by J Stott & Sons and operated as a cotton mill until 1965. There is some information online about it producing clothing and fabric for various major retailers including Marks and Spencers. As is often the case with mills it was then split up into various smaller units for multiple businesses.
The upper floors of this mill are very photogenic, while empty it retains loads of character. There is also some lovely tile work in the engine room although sadly this has been heavily boarded so the lighting isn't the best. We explored this place at sunrise and the upper floors looked great in the early morning sunlight.
Thanks for looking.
