Westbury House
The house was built in the Palladian style but rebuilt in brick after a fire in 1904. It subsequently became a boys' preparatory school before becoming a care home until it closed in the 2010s after being rated inadequate by inspectors.
I remember a documentary on Westbury House on the BBC.
Thousands of patient files including bank details, medical records and contact information have been left behind at this abandoned nursing home.
Residents were taken out of Westbury House in Hampshire by police after a damning inspection in 2016.
Still being one of my favourite explores to date. I love this place, 2 years ago it was the first big explore I did and will always have a place in my heart.
Being here a handful of times, Westbury House was beautiful coming here 2 years ago, the explore inside has changed vastly, vandals stealing items and graffiti being everywhere, broken glass and broken mirrors, but one item still remains that will hopefully remain unbroken is the Main Staircase mirror.
Every Urban Explorer has been to Westbury and knows the history behind the house, most explorers will also know how much it’s changed in the last couple years.
Walking up to the building we saw a red car parked just outside the front entrance which is unusual, we got inside and heard others upstairs so stayed quiet and explored the basement, after an hour or so we braved it and confronted them.. only to be other explorers! We then finished off taking the rest of our pictures and left going past the neighbours houses, yet to be caught here which is a relief!
