I've only been here once before, and that was really concentrating on the Royal Enfield shadow factory. This time we were back in for a longer trip through the old (and not so old) workings.
In the first half of the mine, it's very clean, very tidy, with a high level of workmanship in backing up the deads, and huge pillars, some of which are cracking and held together with chains...
The first of a few cranes...
A good example of the walls built to hold back the deads...
Into the new workings, these have been cut with a Samson coal cutter...
