More of an update than a report ….

Whitchurch Hospital has gone by many names throughout its 108 year life such as Cardiff City Asylum (planning stage only ), Welsh Metropolitan War Hospital during ww2,Cardiff City Mental Hospital and The Fruit Factory.
Opened April 1908 closed April 2016
Several planning applications have lapsed since the closure of the Compact arrow planned hospital.
Lacking the beautiful gothic architecture of Denbigh or the dark history of the health treatments at Talgarth it’s definitely a place worth a visit if you love taking that long corridor shot or peeling paint or just feel a little at home in a hospital such as this.
I would like to thank storm Darragh for bringing down a large tree and destroying a section of Palisade fencing making the visit easier.

That tree has been down since the end of September, a long time before that storm. All secca did rather than fix it properly was chuck a piece of fence haphazardly into the gaping hole and cut some of the tree back in the days following it, I guess they have to wait for the owners to sort out a repair.
