Wigan International Swimming Pool​

The Pool was opened in 1968 with residents of the borough benefiting from over 40 years use of the facility, the majority of my childhood was spent stood shivering on those diving boards! That top stage looks higher now than it did then. Being handed over to the developers at the end of this week, doesn't look like it will be standing for to long.

thats a pretty deep pool,does it warrant a vist by any chance? great photos by the way.

All gone now - If you wait a few months you can go swimming in the new one.

Fantastic insight of the old Wigan swimming pool. The image of the guy stood at the deep end, the thought of all that water above your head makes me shiver!
