This place (well, what’s left of it) has always been such a tease, went with @_motionlessinmike and my partner (no -member who took these pics cos my fat ass didn’t fancy the 2nd floor window).
History:
I won’t go into all the history of DRI because we’ve all seen it on here but:
In 2009 the hospital was closed and transferred to London Road, then 99% of the site was demolished in 2015. All that remains now are the ‘pepperpot towers’ and Wilderslowe House which was formerly the school of nursing. Wilderslowe is a grade 2 listed building which is why it is still standing. The site has been sold and some plans are in the works, here’s a quote from a news article about the new development.

For example, new homes would be created within the Grade II-listed Wilderslowe House, which will be converted into 10 apartments and existing properties on the Osmaston Road side of the site would also be turned into flats.
Meanwhile, The Lodge building would be altered and refurbished, while the site’s two “pepper pot” buildings would be converted and extended for various community uses including a café, exhibition and meeting space as well as gym and fitness facilities.
