This is an extensive system of tunnels located in the former Winchelsea Quarry. Used as an air raid shelter in WW2, they were constructed to form of four main corridors running parallel to one another. There was a total of six original entrances into these tunnels, four of which were within the quarry.
The quarry entrances are now in a locked compound and ownership has changed hands a few times as the use of the compound has changed. Currently there are a few ways of accessing the tunnels but we won’t discuss that here.
After a night of other bits and pieces we have been checking out myself, Wevsky and a non-member made a stop in Dover and popped into this place when it was nice and quiet. I have now visited the place countless times but rarely bothered to get any photos and so thought it was about time I did...
...Hope you enjoy...
