Around the time we looked at the power station control room at Winnington, as well as the ash works, and Lostock power station, this report popped up from @urbanchemist showing even more epic industry nearby. When a revisit was required to the control room, we looked at this as well to make the visit more worthwhile for us, and it definitely did.

Only after we had finished exploring did we set off some motion sensors somewhere on the perimeter of the building, whilst we were taking some externals.
The control room and obligatory industrial porn.
Conical thickeners, which could settle out the salt from the concentrate, which would then be sent downwards, filtered more and collected in storage tanks.
At the top floor, beside the only complete evaporator, where the process begins. Before this, the solution is pumped from the river to these evaporators.
