History

863562

The building illustrated was designed by George B. Ford of Burslem, and built on Chapel Street in 1878, when it was known as Wesley chapel. It is now known as Trinity Methodist Church.

At the time of the 1940 Statistical Returns, it could seat 450.

The chapel is now a listed building and this description of the building gives the full flavour of the interior.

Thats is beautiful. First it reminded me of an old court room or house of commons if it hadn't been for the organ. The stops did make me squint too lol. Great mix of French & English stops there. Lovely stuff :thumb

Yes it’s a nice one, isn’t it? The woodwork is great, and the organ too. The pipes are still mostly there but now laid down on the floor. Doubt it will ever be played again.
