Report - A.E Charlesworth & Co Ltd, Leicestershire - March 15

So after a long day exploring myself and The Shepshed Diamond Back came across this,
it is very trashed inside but still cool to explore.

History

I couldn't find a lot history on this place so I apologize, but here is a few bits.

A.E Charlesworth was a company that specialized in being hosiery dyers and finishers,
it was investigated by HSE on a few occasions that may have been due to the working conditions
that staff were expected to work under.

In 2010 the company was officially closed after the company called the liquidators in 2007,
and so an era of factories such as this one ended.
And with it peoples way of life to earn a living, especially in conditions that would not be
deemed acceptable now.

Thank you, it really is an interesting place even if it is trashed.
It's amazing to think how many people clocked in and out of there

There is an interesting archive room at the back of the top floor too, some quite old ephemera in there if you can be bothered to rake around through the boxes...

I was a bit concerned about the top floor tbh because of its condition,
I did go up there but some parts looked worse than others,
A really cool place though : )
