Report - Batley and District General Hospital, Batley - June 2020

History

All I know is that it opened in 1929 and was named Batley Hospital, until the progression of the NHS in 1948 when it was then known as Batley & District Hospital. The hospital closed in 1988 and later reopened as a care home, closing its doors for good in 1996. A Muslim all girls boarding school bought the building with the intention of turning it into living accommodation for students, however an arson attack in 2017 halted any development plans.

The explore itself was really awesome, moody place and very eerie. Alot of smoke damage unfortunately however it still had some stained glass windows preserved. Enjoy the pics.

Man that place is trashed but still some nice features. That first railings shot is on the money for me!

Really like the stair railings in a weird way. Decay & destruction makes for some photogenic shots. Nice external, that building was once a beaut.

The building is beautiful and the metal stair railings/stair cases are also beautiful.. lined with a layer of soot giving off a dark, eerie feeling. Great place.
