Couldn't find much history on either except the general gist that DBM specialised in the de-commissioning of machinery (makes sense from the title.) The company then moved from Birmingham in 2004 to Smethwick , and then dissolved in 2006 completely. BPR had allegedly processed over 5,000 tonnes of recyclable plastic on a regular basis when the plant was live.
Really wasn't that much to see, but seeing as everything else on the list was sealed or inaccessible, you take what you're given in this case. BPR was in a crazy state of decay, none the less pretty to wonder around in. DBM strongly smelled of piss, had evidence of bums living there with a load of needles and was a popular destination for gangs of youth as I discovered, who regularly seemed to visit the place and trash it some more.
