Built in 1938, Brogborough Sports and Social Club was right at
the heart of village life, with many regular events being organised
and a well supported Bowls Club.
Over the years though, with the closing of the clay pits and brickworks,
and the influx of commuters-to-London into the village, interest in the club diminished.

It closed in 2007.
In 2010 the club was on the market for £700,000.
In 2012 outline planning permission was granted to demolish the derelict
building and to redevelop the site for 16 new homes, including 6 affordable
homes. The land was sold in June 2013 to a local house builder who will
deliver all of the planned homes as affordable units.
