For an off the cuff explore this turned out to be one of the best afternoon explores for a long time.
We were only walking around for a look when 1...2...3 chavs come out of nowhere behind the fence, saying "oooh mate you coming in, it's buuuutiful..." Well it would have been rude to turn down such polite hospitality!
The main auditorium is huge, one of the biggest I have seen. It has been well and truely bingo'd but some original plasterwork, including the boxes either side of the stage remain. The whole circle, stalls and even the stage have been turned into bingo seating, showing how popular it must have been at some piont.
Beyond the bingo facade we found the original underground enterance, and a staircase which had been boxed in which led to dressing rooms, attic and fly tower. The staircase has only been revealed by gippo action smashing plaster to look for copper!
