Small disclaimer is that this location has been sold and there is planning to redevelop it soon so if you do want to go be quick because it probably won’t be there much longer.
History - Fairwood Hospital built in 1914 in Gower, there are four buildings in total that make up the hospital. It was used to treat fever patients, new mothers and babies, and convalescing hospital patients.
Was closed for good in 2010 due to it being too expensive to run and has been sold for development which hasn’t begun yet.
Explore - Found that a lot of homeless people have obviously been staying here and saw some walking towards the building when I was leaving. Found access to 3/4 of the buildings although I only went into 2 of them due too one of them involves climbing and it was pissing down with rain so I didn’t want to risk injuring myself and it’s not far from where I live so I can always go back. When I got there there were a lot of sheep hanging around the area but they all ran off when I walked down. Not sure if they belong to a farm nearby considering there were 20 of them just chilling outside the building. There’s also a lot of shit in the grass due to the animals so watch where you step.
The place is honestly pretty fucked now compared to how it looked in the reports I’d seen. Lots of smashed up stuff, basically every window has been smashed at some point. Bit of a shit tip bit still a good explore.
