Great Carclaze China Clay Works Quarry, Cornwall (Imerys) August 2013
Have walked along side this quarry for years but only just decided to go and have a look whats beyond the fence.
Great Carclaze China Clay Works: These clay pit have been running from around 1966 onwards, moving from site to site for new and fresh ground to mine. The area had been an active clay pit until 2002 and is now just a fresh water provider for other quarries.
Originally a China Clay works, this area has not been used commercially for over 100 years, since when it has been allowed to return to nature.
