The GNL warehouse in Derby was built in 1877 by Krk & Ranndell of Sleaford to serve the nearby Friargate line goods yard.
The building is grade 2 listed and is basically now a roofless shell.
However the warehouse was built with a vast vaulted cellar which in more recent times was used by a number of different motortrade busineses. Each firm had one "arch" of the cellar, access was via an arched tunnel off great northern road.
We accessed from above, a 5 metre drop aided by a ladder, rope and a big pile of wood!
Anyway, heres some of my pictures from today. Sorry about the use of flash on some, my maglite wasn't bright enough for the big open spaces.
Thanks for looking
