I'm sure most of you know I have a healthy interest in all things shipbuilding and dockside, so this beast of a crane has been on the cards for a while. But tales of search boats with night sun's on their bows put us off somewhat... but with some time to kill OT and I decided to go for it.
So, in crisp white shirt and donkey jacket, I set about climbing the looming structure. I was fully prepaired for the steps to be rusted and dodgy, but credit to the iron makers of old, the thing is in fab condition.
That first climb yielded poor crooked tripodless raindrop speckled pics, so the following night, in grubby white shirt and donkey jacket we did the same again... I hope the second climb's pics are to your liking!
