Report - Harris ROC post, Isle of Harris - September 2024

This post closed in 1991. It is located on the edge of Tarbert beside a TV / mobile phone mast compound. The hatch was found to be open and the post accessible but thankfully it was fairly dry with a few artefacts surviving.

I was amazed to find it, up there with the “Government Property” toilet paper which you never see any more. The location of this one helps it a lot, it’s been left alone by the vandals and souvenir hunters . It was like visiting a mainland ROC post 20 years ago.
