1. The History
I’ll not go into the history again but there’s a pretty comprehensive one here on my old report HERE
2. The Explore
Lost count of the times I’ve been here. It’s big, it’s trashed and it’s wide open. Reason I visit again and again is due to the over-changing graff. There’s three separate factories along this stretch of the Loxley valley but this time limited myself to the former Hepworths site. Some decent new graff, but in the main bit, sadly, the good stuff has been covered over by the new breed of graff artists we have here in Sheff now who’s “art” is little more than stylised lettering. Still worth a look though and the hour or so I spent wandering around.
3. The Pictures
First up the smaller stilted building on the river:
The wash-room:
Nature reclaiming the toilets:
On to the adjoining factory:
Love this recent piece by Coloquix drawing on Joy Division’s Unknown Pleasures cover:
Quite a bit of relatively new stuff by Coloquix in this part:
And some Brayk too:
Briefly across the road to this old building:
This place is well-gone:
But some lovely Coloquix in here makes it worth a look-in:
And some Brayk:
And this lovely retro staircase:
On to the big factories on the other side of the river:
The new and the old. I know which one I prefer:
At least this is pretty decent:
