'Afraid I can't actually give much in terms of history and background to this place - I'm struggling to find info online myself and I'd love to know more - especially any drawings or maps which show where the drain runs in relation to a satellite image or a map.
The drain runs under the main A663 Broadway carriageway and, as the name implies, what used to be the Red Barn pub / inn (now Ancora, a restaurant, Italian I think).
We will be returning because we decided not to proceed when things got stoopy. A combination of doing the drain on the same day as having spent a small fortune on a new DSLR and being paranoid of dropping it in the drink and the fact it'd been a long day already. Just before writing this though I've found other reports from members on this site of the same drain and now I'm gutted we didn't go further - looks like we turned around before the interesting bits! Doh.
The thing I like about this place is textures - the mineral deposits and build ups of iron, the stalactites and the varying materials in the pipework - plenty to keep you busy, especially with a new camera

All in all a good opportunity to play with the new camera and get inspiration to come back again and get further down next time.
