Rumour has been going around, mainly spread by nursery rhymes, that London Bridge is indeed, falling down.
Being explorers we felt it was our responsibility to carry out structural checks and put this rumour to rest...
It all started roughly two months ago, when while on a walkabout with Ratfink, we spotted potential access. So just after Christmas, we were back down that way and decided to take a closer look...
Inside, a small chamber full of cables, with four or five smaller tunnels leading off under the bridge and over the river.

After crossing the river it opened out into another, bigger, chamber. With a big pit of water/silt, and two cradles with gates on either side. I would guess that these are to change the lightbulbs under the bridge...

And a couple from the chambers on Lower/Upper Thames Street...

And with that, I can safely say that London Bridge is definitely not falling down, and is safe to explore another day..
Structural inspections carried out with Ratfink and Half-Life, then again with Ojay, Rookinella, Havoc, Lawrence and Ninja Boy.
Thanks for looking.
