hi first time doing a report and photos are from a phone so quality is not the best , sorry in advance
this is what remains of the anglesey aluminium plant in Holyhead they used to make aluminium from raw materials it closed in 2009 because of the closure of Wylfa nuclear power station .
then in about 2016 a company orthios eco parks was using the site for a plastic recycling centre but they went bust in 2022
we gained access to the site simply by climbing over a fence and hoping over a drainage ditch
this is the view on first entering. the site is abandoned but there are cctv cameras everywhere and one or more security guard ( it was Saturday morning if they did see us they couldn't be bothered)

the main structure of the sheds is still strong but the roof and wall sheeting is in disrepair . at one time there were 500 people employed on this site .

as you can see its a long shed the lower part of the floor at wan time had huge aluminium smelters .
at the end of the shed 3 sheds meet like a trident where they had stored some relatively old engineering equipment
at the end of the sheds there was a small tunnel leading to a pit witch looked to me like a elevator once stood , the buildings seem to of had gantry cranes along there length but have sadly been removed
the same view from opposite ends
the shed most to the west was lined with approximately 100 TON bags witch were filled with a very light black rock (like wat they use for shot blasting but bigger ???)
after this we went into one of the orthios buildings ( i am very sorry for the camera quality )
the othios company declared bankruptcy 2 days before pay day ( the employs were payed by the month )
so a lot of stuff was left behind
your standard office building its all still clean and all valuables have been removed not that that should matter . but there is still plenty of evidence of people who left in a hurry ( personal photos , paperwork and tomato Sause witch I'm not going to post because it is so resent )
this is the locker room witch has a lot of PPE abandoned within . lots of personal photos , porn , small hand tools still left or stuck in the lockers .
the plumbing and water was still on so when the auto flush on the urinal went off it court me off-guard lol
to the left is a picture in one of the offices of the site in its full glory , and on the right the stack it was to out in the open to risk getting closer but this photo dose not do it justice .
at this point we left the site .
the roomer i have heard is that Stena line ferry's has acquired the site and intends to manufacture wind turbines and or wind turbine components on the site . however in the sale of this site was included a very large jetty in Holyhead port (cruise ship large )
witch may of been the actual motivation .from this jetty there is a tunnel containing a conveyor belt to move the row materials approximately 1.5 miles long under the town of Holyhead . it is most likely flooded but perhaps not in fervour exploration I hope to fined out.
thanks . happy to answer any questions
