Cheviot foods escaped closure in 2008 when MBO bought it and renamed it Northumberland Foods.
In August 2010 as administrators were called in to the factory with a loss of 250 jobs the factory was closed despite the previous years turnover of £20 million.
In October 2012 it was announced that the premises we could be demolished as the administrators had failed to attract any potential buyers. Although a date has not yet been set, on our visit activity had started and we had to make a quick exit
