Went up to Stoke with skelderz and pitman0, with the intention of checking out Moneystone Quarry (http://www.28dayslater.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=65791&highlight=moneystone), but were greeted by a (very helpful) demolition worker and the son of the site manager... Naturally we pretended we were looking for access to the sidings, and went on our way
about 45 minutes, a nettle sting (thanks to skelderz' advice to wear shorts), and about 5 barbed wire fences later, we found ourself at the back of the quarry, just a couple of minutes walk from the sidings, so here goes the pics
I'd always wanted to operate some railway points
lonely toilet shot
needless to say, we didn't have to pay the fine
some very heavy machinery
and the dials to go with it
skelderz driving a train
we did walk into the quarry and have a quick look round afterwards, but got spooked when the aforementioned people came out of the building, along with the site manager, while we were hiding in one of the silos; turned out they were just lighting a massive bonfire... but it was getting dark, and after about 6 hours exploring, we decided to call it a day.
thanks for looking
