1. The History
This place was a bit of a hike but on a reasonably sunny March afternoon the time flew by. This place an old water-board house above Redmires Dams, next to Oaking Clough Reservoir. It’s a fairly substantial two-roomed building which still retains the remnants of a range on both sides. A small stone set into the ground confirms that the building was associated with SWW (Sheffield Water Works).
2. The Explore
Not really an explore really but more of a ramble. Didn’t bother posting at the time but with no new explores thought I’d post it up. There may not be that much there but the setting is really picturesque and it is abandoned.
3. The Pictures
The Redmires plughole:
And abandoned building next to it:
Some of the nice old farmer’s bridges on the way up to the reservoir:
And we’re here:

Across the bridge:
Into the first room:
This graff wasn’t here last time:
Company marker stone:
On to the second room:
And a couple more externals for good luck:
So nothing too special but quiet pretty all the same….
