After some of the reports on here about demolition I was bricking it I might have missed out on one of the really iconic UK Cold War sites....
....anyway as it happens the dishes are still there for the moment - phew
Even though I've seen enough pictures of this place, the dishes are still really something else in the metal - well worth the the trip
They are still working on the site at the moment and they are basically unearthing and crushing all the concrete foundations from the old ACE HIGH buildings plus all the old conduits , drains etc. They are also pulling out all the old underground cabling. The fellow onsite wouldn't let on about what was going to happen to the dishes...
