Report - Service Warehousing (Radcliffe, Bury) May 2015

Firstly thanks for all the kind words and all the advice I received from my first report.

This report was a bit of a random one. A non-member told me about this place, but wasn't too sure on access. We later found out this wasn't an issue. Straight forward explore, spent about an hour and a half in here.

History

So I've searched Google long and hard for some history on this place, and although it says it is still open, it isn't. I couldn't find hardly any information on this place so I'm afraid all I can tell you is the name (Service Warehousing) and that it was once a storage facility as well as a textiles factory. Searching around the site I found a piece of paper dated back to 1997 declaring works to start on improving the building, not sure whether or not they got round to it....

This was what it looked like in working condition.

Not much left there, but looks a good wander

In 1991 it was known as North Street Works and the local authority granted a change of use from “light industrial” to “storage and distribution”

Yeah not much Yorrick, nice and easy explore though. There's also an abandoned church 200 yards down the road.

Might have been demo'd. Get out there and have a look, if it's not there keep looking

checked this place out @Myths ! ..i shall explore this place in the near future , nice pics , i am puzzled by the pic of the window looking out onto the countryside cos the warehouse is surrounded by terraced streets ?

I don't think you have the right place mate. If you pop up in a message I will try my best to guide you. Not sure if its still do-able or worth it but y'never know!

i saw the sign through the gates saying SERVICE WAREHOUSING and i was in north st radcliffe , and there was an abandoned building that looked like a church nearby @Myths
