Magical Explore for me, I was a Student Engineer at the station 1963 -1968 even now it looks familiar.
The unit numbers 13,14,15 were because the A station had 12 boilers.
The heat and dust at the top of the boilers was bad, but the ladder to the roof provided relief until you had to descend.

We moved further and further up towards the top floor of the boiler before finding an access point to the roof. By the time we were on the roof the sun was beginning to rise. It was probably the best sunrise we’ve all witnessed and was a great way to end the explore.

Alongside these shots I also got some film shots produced too. I had only used the camera twice at this point and decided to do a quick run around as we exited, so I have chosen the ok photos for those interested. They’re nothing special and poorly focused but will do.

Thanks for looking!
Wonderful, I was a student apprentice at the station 1963 age 18 - 1968. Obviously I spent many hours in the control rooms and the plant and even knew what each gauge should read, and what each item was for. Sitting on the control desk you would have been sacked. Now I am 80 it is great to see what is left of the B station, nothing left of the A station but un-photographed memories.
You made it to the roof as I did, however back then the heat , airflows, and dust were OK when you went up, but like descending into Hell as you came down from the cool views.

Thank You.
