Report - Wellow Vineyard - Hampshire - March 2019

Cute little place only 10 mins from where I live, couldn’t find any history on it, was once a vineyard and restaurant, there were shipping containers that had been used to grow weed so not sure if they got busted and closed down due to that. Spent around an hour having a nose, it’s been trashed which is a shame but this seems to be a regular thing on every explore I’ve had so far.

I work in Michelmersh about 2 miles from this and my boss knows the old owner well - The graffiti is a new one on me though, and surprises me that roof is still up.

Yea it’s been trashed since previous reports, the piano was in a sorry state, I just don’t understand the need for vandalism, really p****s me off!!

That's about right' to be fair it was a while ago and wasn't the most kosher of jobs. I never did know who actually owned the vineyard, I'm guessing my boss just rented it. Nice couple.

The bloke who lived in the caravan looked after all the vines, lovely bloke, good as gold.

I dont remember what it was officially called. Amfalconer might know, I'm wonder which owner he knew.

We used to drink there every now and again It's a special explore for me.

Found The British Wine Company [London] Limited - incorporated 1992 dissolved 2011 but so far not able to trace them to this location.

It's not me who knows them, it's my boss, who lives in the house backing on to the actual vineyard - on Danes Road - I think he said John someone? was a while ago I asked about it. I'll ask him when I see him.

Apparently it's a chap named John Shoan (Shone, Shoane... unsure of the spelling) who owns the place, the operator of the vineyard/restaurant appealed unsuccessfully against a rent review, and the place went on the market.

Apparently the all the vines and restaurant have nothing to do with the site owner.

Whereabouts are you based @Thebfg ??
