Not really a lot to this one, it's a small village hall tucked up in a small country lane. It has a large house next door what says the old school, so guessing it was linked to the school when both in use. The outside is constructed of corrugated iron and inside is wood clad. It's just one hall and to the side is three small rooms. One with a lovely fireplace in, but the roof has collapsed hiding most of it. There was also a small toilet room in pitch black with what looks like an older chemical style toilet. It was definatley used for badminton as some bits of tape lay on the ground and a few shuttlecocks dotted about. Visited with man gone wrong and we both liked this place a lot, it had a lit of character. I like corrugated iron buildings and I like wood cladding so this had both. Also liked the old light switches in here.

The formidable sounding "Iron Room" is the corrugated iron village hall which was the centre of village life. The people made their own entertainment and very good it was too. Socials, concerts, magic lantern shows and whist drives were all held there. Taken from https://northwalshamarchive.co.uk/memories-of-westwick
There was a school confirmed at https://www.northwalshamarchive.co.uk/westwick-1875-1975 but apparently no history has been found. My first link also states - Standing in the Park by the Norwich Road there was a home for young children who came from London. Here they were fed and clothed and taught at the village school. On leaving school,! jobs were found for them and many of them went abroad. The buildings disappeared a long time ago but the site is marked by a small yellow rose bush which grows in the hedge nearby.

Interesting little place. The great photos along with WS links really makes this report. Great old og bits there. Cabin in the woods comes to mind :p That's a different toilet for the collection. Like the untouched, cobwebbed look this place has.

Wow that's great you found that. I was struggling to find anything. I really love the fact it was called the iron hall. Although it gives it a grim sounding name. Thank you.

Thank you Jane. It really is a lovely untouched place and it oozed character. I said to you a few months ago I had found an interesting toilet. Well that's the one ha ha.

I know of a few Iron Rooms that are still in perfect repair
Give or take a bit like whether the entrance is on the side of the end wall or the end of the end wall and customisation for a specific site, I think they are all variations of a single template, so you can see roughly how it would have looked before it was neglected. Here's a good example https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/ind...ng&title=Special:MediaSearch&go=Go&type=image
Probably be able to sign up for legs bums and tums classes during the week, and other exciting village life

We have a few like that. They are just the wood clad ones which are as nice. Bet all sorts of exciting things went on at these old village halls.
