Wye College- October 2020
Visited on a South Eastern road trip last weekend; made up of about half a dozen sites. Sadly; we only managed to get into this one, but what a site and big thanks to Dragon_Urbex for doing all the planning.
Considering a 2009 closure; the place has survived INCREDIBLY well and I for one wish it to remain that way. The site was made up of a modern and medieval section. Sadly there was no way into the older part; so we spent a good 2 hours plus in the "newer" part.
The site is affiliated with Imperial College in London goes back to the 15th century where it started out as a medieval priest training college.
By the 1900s, this stopped and the site became an Agricultural College, before being acquired by Imperial College later on. It closed down in September 2009 and has lain derelict ever since.
It has been bought for; you guessed it! Housing.
After leaving we were checking out the outside of the building and two youngsters on pushbikes approached us and asked if we were YouTubers..... "Er no, we do things the old school way guys, forums etc".
"Oh, do you like Ally Law?"
"No I *stops self from ranting*... No, he has been part of a league who have wrecked this hobby".
"I buy his merch, I have his Necklace!!"
We remained polite with one another, tongue firmly bit about urbexers who sell merch........
