Well, recently, I explored an abandoned college once associated with a biiig university - Imperial College in London! This college goes back to the 15th century when it started out as a medieval priest training college. However, in the 1900s, this stopped and it became an agricultural college, before being acquired by Imperial. It then closed down in the 2009 and has lain derelict ever since. Recently, a developer bought the site and is planning to (drum roll please) develop it into houses, converting the original medieval section (not accessible) into flats.
The Explore:
The explore was simple and relaxed. The buildings I accessed were the modern, 1970s structures used as laboratories, and were fascinating and really surprisingly unvandalised (apart from a small amount of smahed windows that had been sheeted up with steel). Inside were some fascinating science laboratories and fume cupboards, along with a pretty incredible lecture theatre. That, by far, was the highlight of the explore. There was a machining workshop as well, which still had three huge lathes and saws in. I visited this site in September this year, and went back yesterday with @Landie_Man. Enjoy the photos!
Thanks for readin'!
