Report - Asylum Building - Haywards Heath, Sussex - December 2024

Visited here today this was my first ever urbex and this is my first ever report so i hope i do well

History

This site was closed in 2008 and was originally apart of the Princess Royal Hospital but was forced to close due to structural problems. It originally housed a small number of patients before being shut down


The Explore

Entry was extremely simple

The downstair floors are pretty trashed and in a few rooms the roof is caving in, upstairs is quite clean with a few mattresses on the floor and only a few pieces of litter, there is some graffiti on the wall but not much.

All in all i had alot of fun exploring and am looking forward to finding other locations

Nice one! I had to pay this a visit, you weren't kidding about simple entry! I didn't trust going upstairs one bit considering the ground floor felt like it was going to collapse at any moment. Looks like there may have been a fire there as well though I haven't really looked into the history of the building. Seems like there's a basement as well but I couldn't find an entrance to it.

I went here for my first time also but the police have barred up the easy entrance, we are able to get in but haven't yet, you have to use lots of stuff to jump over. Wanted to let everyone know that the "easy entrance" isn't there anymore.

I live very close to this and go past it almost everyday, security have proper gone to town on sealing it now, I highly doubt anyone will ever get in here again. Just a heads up incase anyone was thinking of driving here.
