Decided to go and check these towers out in the small hours of a cold September morning after getting a tip off from another explorer.
Not expecting more than an outside staircase to climb full of locked up flats I was wonderfully surprised to find that access to the entire tower was possible,
every room and floor included. Both of them. The sheer size made it very difficult to condense the 123 images I was left with into something more forum friendly.
What was very strange about this place was how much stuff there was left behind. There were bottles of shower gel in the bathrooms. Detergent in the kitchens.
Books, CDs, VHS tapes, furniture, TVs, letters, passports, even items of food still in their packaging with an expiry date of 2008. It's like everyone just upped and left.
This is truly the holy grail of urbex for me, very up my street. I couldn't believe my luck when I found it.
I can't find much on the history, just that they plan to demolish both towers at some point, bur granted I haven't looked that hard.
Visited with Bobbyg88 and Tom Sherman, then again the next day with stopford_lad. Oh and thanks for the lift Jay
stopford_lad slacking again.
What's wrong with the lift?
Obligatory 28 shot
The one free man.
Artistic mould?
Lift winches.
Blueprints for the lift machinery.
Transmitter controls for the phone mast.
stopford_lad enjoying the vista
On top of the world.
Abstract!
Sorry if this is in the wrong section btw, I wasn't entirely sure where to put it. :
Let me know what you think.
