BRASSHOUSE LANGUAGE CENTER, SHEEPCOTE STREET, BIRMINGHAM 2025

HISTORY (what i could find anyway)
This rather nice building just off Birminghams "golden mile" , Broad Street, was built between 1931 and 1932 by Crouch, Butler and savage. The building and grounds span over 2762 square meters in total and was first used as offices for South Staffordshire Waterworks company . The company used the site until 1991, some time after it became the Brasshouse language center and is now owned by birmingham city council.
In March 2016 however, Birmingham council deemed it surplus and the doors were closed, The building was eventually offered for sale in 2021 but "unfortunatly , despite best attempts. the buyers were unable to complete the purchase due to the withdrawal of their funding source"
It was back on the market with a closing date for offers being the 5th July, 2023.
Since then , Birmingham council have submitted a "report to the cabinet committee on 29 Feb 2024 , the summery of report seeks authority for the sale of surplus council owned land and property by "grant of a new lease (250 years) , at a premium"
To date its still standing empty.

The report...........
Access here gives you the option of finding the right door or climbing up to the roof. (i much prefer the door option ). Visited here a few times now with the dee explores crew. All the pics on this report are from Feb 2025 but not much has changed since then, access is still the same but scrappers have visited once or twice.
There is a lot left to see here at the moment , all rather random items , as if it was being used as storage for a hoarder maybe? Theres a nice little chill room on the second floor with chairs and a bed etc , possibly the room used by the security when they were staying here. , Anyway, enough of my waffle, lets have some pictures,,,,,,,,,,
