Hi, this is my first time ever exploring somewhere like this and Im so excited to start exploring more <33
History - The fan finished its life working as one of several fans used on the Huntcliff Ironstone mines. It was officially decomissioned in 1872 after spending its life fanning fresh air into the mines and allowing old air to circulate back out through the chimneys. The Huntcliff mines were then closed down in 1906 marking the end of an era.
Explore - I went on the walk by myself and started off in Saltburn, it was over 20 degrees today which was a mistake as it took me an hour and a half just to get to the fanhouse, although i do walk slow and i took detours for pictures. Its a lovely walk up (after the hellish stairs) with amazing views and the sound of the sea right by you. There were barely any others on my walk and the only other people were either dogwalkers or couples. Its a fairly public site and is easy to find on google maps for those interested in going. Also just a warning for those who might want to go to be careful because you do have to jump a small rail track to get to it, the train is quite slow and is very easy to hear.
Pictures - Im sorry i didnt take any proper pictures it completely slipped my mind because I havent used my camera in 2 years at this point, also id love for some photo tips on how i could improve my photography <33
