Coal fired power station owned by EDF comprising of 4 units with a total output of 1000Mw with 4 chimneys at 125m.

Construction began 1963 and the plant was fully commissioned in 1969

The plant ceased operating in 2014 after 51 years of operation, 1,147 employees and 2,000 service providers worked on the site during its 41 years of operation.

From 2004 to 2011, to the east of the site, a new thermal power plant was built in the form of a Gas-combined cycle.

Good trip this a weekend in France 5 power stations all ticked off. Happy days.

Very nice, do like the look of Blenod, from the outside it's a horrid box, but the turbine hall is pretty sumptuous.
