The mill above is currently in a derelict state. First time I visited the mill I missed the fact that there was even a culvert here, somehow. Returned a while later, but weather was too bad for going in drains. Third time lucky for a solo visit late-ish one evening for a nice wander (and a bit of a stoop) through a nice, relatively short, culverted section of Jackson Bridge Dike.
Entering from the furthest point upstream, a minor clamber down...
Looking out of the culvert, a sizeable brick arch...
Brick...
All going well until a bit of a stoop ahead. My back wasn’t happy.
Some deep bits here where the floor has given way...
After a bit there’s a junction. Straight on through that arch continues down the stream. Left turn takes you up to the mill...
Looking back at the junction. Left is where we’ve just come from, right is towards the mill.
Continuing... there’s a little open section (again looking back)...
Onwards, emerges here...
So back to the junction, and on towards the mill. Handy shovel and, you can see in the distance, another stoop...
Almost there now...
Classic knob Graf MDF waterfall shot... heading up here takes you to the mill pond out the back of the mill...
And out at the mill...
