Another culvert on my to do list ticked off , No doubt spurned on from the wonderful reports by Tarkovsky and Stranton i decided to get this done . Starting at the lowest point downstream access was easy enough just a clamber over the old wall . The old mill above it has completely gone and excavators are on the land complete with harris fencing all around indicating some sort of building work is about to start although what that is im not sure . The old mill was from the 1800s and the dean dike dam above it provided the water for it

looking at previous reports its fair to say that this section has become cluttered and i had to crawl through on all fours to get past it ( The only bad part of the explore )

looking back down stream had a moment here to get myself sorted and the big torch back out of my back pack , glad that bit was over and i could stand up straight

lovely stone section

nearly at the infall there was a change in construction here to concrete beam and roof
P9140957.JPG
there was actually 2 infalls the one straight ahead led to the sluice control from the dam above
P9140958.JPG
i nearly missed it as it was so overgrown outside

had planned to try and exit here but a car had appeared on site not sure if it was security or workers but had to beat a retreat back down the culvert and through that nightmare crawl again , my head torch batteries packed up just as i was on all fours in the water leaving me in complete blackness thankfully i diddnt panic and they came back on when i switched them to a lower lumen mode ! climbing back out there was a car outside the entrance they must have got wind i was onsite but other than cold stares no one confronted me , all in all a fab explore except that stoopy bit cheers for viewing 👍

Yes it was short and sweet shame about the low section but its a good one on the whole , Would have liked to have walked further up and looked around the dam its in a lovely location
It does look sweet. Bet the dam would be nice. One day I will get to do a culvert or something similar ha ha..
