"You've got red on you..."

Visited with O2E & Zero on a wonderful early summer morning. Two buildings in one! This used to be a Brewery before the pigmentation works moved in and subsequently used it to house a vertical dye and pigment production line running though the buildings and making use of the existing concrete portal frame left over from the brewery.

Not much remains here and is in an advanced state of being "fucked" but after seeing Host's most excellent report, the quirk of the colours and the brewery leftovers proved too much of a draw.

Some info on EC Pigments:

EC Pigments was formed in July 2000 with the integration of European Colour (Pigments) Limited and Roma Color Inc. The company can trace its origins back to the 19th century.

The Company is a global supplier of organic pigments. We promote and sell our products through our extensive network of agents and distributors. Sales to the United Kingdom and USA are carried out on a direct basis.

EC Pigments produces organic pigments for the printing ink, plastics and coatings markets. For a number of years the business focussed almost exclusively on the printing inks market but more recently has found success in plastics and coatings areas.

The product range consists of classical azo pigments, metal salt azo pigments, naphthol pigments and basic dye complex pigments. Our products find their way into printing inks and especially into printing inks for packaging applications.

And the fomer brewery.

Bell & Co Ltd, Hempshaw Brook Brewery, Hempshaw Lane, Stockport. Founded by Avery Fletcher in 1835 and was acquired by Smith & Bell in 1850. Registered in 1898. Acquired by Frederic Robinson Ltd in April 1949 with 160 tied houses.
