Hi all. I know this has been to death now but its still a good explore and is on my door step. Pictures are a mix of mine and a my exploring buddy. This was relaxed explore as we couldnt see any signs of security. Had the run of the site for a good few hours with no interruptions.
History.
The Fison Fertilizer Factory was opened in 1959 and produced fertilizer for farms. The ammonia was pumped in from Shell through underground pipelines. The ammonium nitrate had to be kept at 130 degrees, even when transporting it, to maintain its liquid form and was kept in a 2000 ton insulated tank. The site finally closed down in the the mid 1980s and has been derelict since. At the moment its used by graffiti artists and people playing airsoft. Worth going back again for some sunny pictures when it warms up.
A few pictures from the day.
