Glenfield Tunnel is 1796 yards long and opened in 1832 and closed in 1966. The tunnel was very narrow by later standards and only certain engines could use it. The Tunnel underwent a resent program of strengthening esp aroung the airshafts. Visited with Rich PDG and explorer dog Binky :Not Worthy
